High Pressure Door Systems
Most mines work on a partitioned ventilation system. In a partitioned system, different areas are sealed off from one another, meaning that risks such as noxious gas buildup can be localized. This helps minimize risk and maximize control throughout the entire mining area.
The underlying principle in mining ventilation is that air movement is caused by differences in air pressure. Therefore, being able to control air movement and work with air pressure is central to maintaining safe ventilation practices in the mining industry. High pressure door systems allow you to have a well partitioned ventilation system throughout your mining area, including in high pressure areas.
High Pressure Doors Work in Extreme Conditions
High pressure door systems are the best (and only) option for locations of more than 10” WG pressure. Unlike Bi-Fold door systems, which draw on air pressure to assist in operating the doors, these door systems are operated with heavy duty welded hydraulic actuators and built-in load holding valves They can safely and effectively operate in locations with up to 20” WG pressure.
We Offer the Strongest Door Systems Available
Hoffman Manufacturing’s high pressure door systems are simply the strongest and heaviest door systems in the industry. They include many of the same construction features as our Bi-Fold systems, but they can be installed in locations with up to 20” WG pressure. Both doors open in the same direction and utilize heavy duty welded hydraulic actuators with load holding valves for added safety and efficiency. The door panels feature neoprene rubber seals on the tips of the panels to form a tight seal in the closed position, making for 1 percent or less air loss. In addition, an enclosed header containing all flange bearings keeps your bearings safe from accident, wear, and degeneration.
We offer convenient and customizable options to suit the unique requirements of your mine. Our high pressure door systems are available in freestanding design, meaning you have the flexibility of transporting them as your needs and locations change. Our high pressure systems can also be installed with our door control systems, giving you added security and efficiency. Some available safety features in our door control systems include safety limit switches, strobes, radar sensors, time delay relays, and more.
